Las Vegas Night Time Bus Safety

I am considering riding CAT bus #109 this Friday from airport to
downtown transfer center. How safe is that ride at 10:00- 11:00 PM.
Have done it in daylight, but never at night.

If your riding alone I wouldn't do it, especially if your a woman. The Downtown Transportation Center is a couple of real seedy blocks from any hotel's. The bus itself is probably fine, but if your walking to a hotel from there alone, I dont think it's a good idea.
I'm uncomfortable there in daylight, and I'm a pretty big guy.

If a woman alone may be an issue. Otherwise not a problem. I am
through that area all the time at all hours on buses & walking.

Hi... if you are alone I would just talk to the driver on entering and
ask him safest place to sit for a woman alone, I would think Fri. night
will be safe and actually very busy. A seat near the front and the
driver is safest if possible but also the busiest, maybe sit a couple
rows back from him..

Lets get some Royals...

Of course, you could dress like you don't have $3000 on you. Sorry, I
couldn't resist. I will desist now.

I even walk the block to the El Cortez at 1:00 AM.

Absolutely be careful in that area. It might be to your benefit to
just take a cab from the airport or take a bus to a somewhere along
the strip then catch a cab from there. It will cost more than the
bus but can you really put a price on your safety?

I am a big guy too. 6'2" and 240 and I am Native American and some
fool in that area started exercising his jaw toward my direction
around midnight. This was on the east end of the Fremont Street
Experience canopy on the same side of the street as the light show
so it was even away from the downtown casinos, I can't imagine what
it must be like even a block away from Fremont Street Experience at
night. . But luckily for me and him he was laying on a bench and
was too lazy to get up out of "bed". I walked away quickly

If you are concerned with extra safety try the #108 from the airport. It has a downtown stop at the same place where the strip buses drop, by Walgreens (open 24') at Fremont Street just one block from Fitzgerald's. It runs from the airport until about 130am
