Las Vegas Hilton Comps

For give me for revisiting old threads, but I was away from home for
three weeks, and only now have cleared the backlog of vpFREE digests.

Respecting the accumulation rate of comp dollars, I was told by our
host to expect that rate to drop as our overall play-based rating
increased. This makes sense to me. If they're already comping our
room and most of our food and drink, why do we need as many comp
dollars?

Contrary to what has been often stated here, that host also advised
that if we are not staying at the Hilton and choose to drop in for
some play, that play is not factored into our rating.

The host agrees that doing anything on checkout day that accesses
your account is not advisable, since that day will then be considered
a day of play, and if there is no, or minimal play, the trip average
will be reduced.

Now this may explain why I was achieving a .40% comp rate while others were reporting in the area of .25%. We came in on a room comp only and expended a couple hundred of our comp dollars on meals.

Yes, it's becoming apparent that this is much more than a
locals/visitors issue. There's apparently a wide range of comp
earning rates, from 0.25% up to over 1%.
