I perpetually screw up the LVH "C" ratings. My reference to C2 should
be C4.Based upon diverse information reports, here is my understand of
ratings and benefits at LVH:C5: Room comp
C4: Room/coffee shop comps (this does include the Margarita Grill, a
personal fav!)
C3: Upgrades you to gourmet
C2: Upgrades you to suite
C1: Gets you all those nice little amenities and considerations that
make you feel like a pampered high-roller (with less than a $1mm trip
handle requirement :).Just as a footnote, these ratings designate your status coming into
the property. If you've given them higher play than your trip average
for the last 5 trips, always ask to have your room charges reviewed
for additional consideration!)
Had a pleasant experience recently with LVH which has changed my personal
ranking of them.
Drove in on 12/28, Sat night for the beginning of 9-night stay - 2 at Casino
Royale, 2 at NYNY & 5 at Venetian. Tried to check in to Casino Royale using
the coupon only to find out that it was not good for this time of year. (It
was clearly stated on coupon, just didn't read it.) Went to have dinner at
Palace Station where I perused thru my "coupon" folder & considered several
casinos. Santa Fe had "Sold Out" on calendar but I like that place & called
them anyway - $89 maybe $59 or less w/mailer. Almost midnight, Palace Station
is not far from LVH & I have a mailer for 2 nights & show which are normally
not honored so close to New Year's. Since we're close, we checked out LVH
first expecting to be turned down & to end up at Santa Fe where we have fond
memories. Went to VIP to ask about a room & Mr. Azzara looks at my mailer &
reserves a room for 2 nights based on the mailer & prior play. Not sure about
the show tickets (Sheena Easton or Huey Lewis).
From a prior stay, I have a different set of notes which should be taken only
as guidelines:
$2K/day Casino Rate
$4K/day Room Comp
$10K/day RFL (C4)
$16K/day RFB
I played $33k on 12/29, had 2 or 3 buffets & one dinner at Margarita Grill
which is one of 2 Mexican restaurants that I really like (El Vaquero at
Harvey's Lake Tahoe is the other, Pink Taco gets a mention just because of
their staff). I found out that the show tickets were not included but they
comped 2 tickets to Huey Lewis I'm guessing that it was due to play.
There was some resistance to comping everything off. They do calculate a trip
average based on the last 4/5/6 trips - not sure of the number. I thought I
had enough over the last 4 trips. That's when I learned that there is another
measure that they look at. This other measure concerns play history over the
last 2 years & my prior play was just casual short sessions. Sometimes I
would stop in for just a half hour. I guess they were afraid that I would
play down to that level again. Anyway they gave me the benefit of the doubt
and I am thankful for that.
Moral of the story: once you've established yourself at a respectable
trip-average level, you've made an investment. Don't blow it on subsequent
short visits. If you can't play long enough to keep the average up, don't
play or don't use your card.
As for LVH, very pleased with them and Mr. Azzara. I will be back & will play
at the C4 or better level.
