Stopped by today to do a scouting visit. It would appear they are preparing to close. Table games and cafe are closed. There are only a few machines left in the casino and about 2/3 of those were unplugged. Looks like they have returned all modern leased machines to manufacturers. All that remain are really old machines that they probably own.

I’ve stopped there a few times when going to Vegas. I do not recall ever seeing any advertising or promotions. Why should people want to go there? Look at the Skyline, they’re basically in the same area, and I don’t see THEM going out of business. What was the Klondike thinking?
I think my scouting notes from a couple years ago show a couple old quarter progressives, 7-5 Bonus Poker, 1/2% meter. May have been coin droppers, I don’t remember. Nothing much besides that to write home about that I noticed. I do remember driving past it many times and seeing one or two cars in the parking lot. Marketing geniuses.
