From a much longer story that ran in the LV Sun several weeks ago:
"The new project to replace the Klondike, expected to cost $1 billion, will boast 1,200
hotel condominiums and an 80,000-90,000 square-foot casino. The McCarran
International Airport height restriction on any project on the site is 25 stories; expect the
new resort to touch that height, and construction could to begin in the first quarter of
2007."

I used to partake regularly in the "free" half-chicken dinner (just pay for the $1.89 drink),
but stopped going when they stopped offering the chicken. I'm surprised that no one has
mentioned that the Klondike is one of the locations in the great "Vegas Vacation" movie.
You can see the exterior mural as Clark Griswald and his brother-in-law go in to try to win
money playing "Guess my Number" and "War," which of course has since become a
"legitimate" casino game! It's one of my favorite scenes in the movie. I think I'll head back
in for one last meal before they close up.

i doubt it will be anything very tall given the location vis-a-vis the
airport...believe there are air restrictions there...
