In 974 triple double with a deal of AAA47 or 22248 is it best to hold
the set and kicker...having to hit the quad perfectly or just hold the
set and hope for the quad and one of the other 11 outs...

In a game like DDB, you never hold a kicker in addition to trip Aces.
But in TDB, you take a huge ER hit if you don't hold that kicker.
It's still the case in either game that you toss a kicker when holding
a pair of Aces.
