In reference to the atm charges that are incured by using an atm, I have to say that we bank with Bank Of America here in North Carolina. On most of our trips, we have only carried 1 days limit of playing money. Bank of America atm machines are everywhere in Las Vegas. We go everyday to get our daily money. On our first trip, we inquired as to our daily limit. It wasn't enough. We contacted the bank and asked that it be raised to the amount we needed everyday. They did it without a problem. We have never paid one cent for atm charges because it is our bank. Those of you that bank with Bank of America will have no problem. I am sure there are more nationwide banks than Bank of America that will allow there customers to do the same thing.

Is there Bank of America branch close to the strip? I was told that there was a ATM in the
Forum Shops, but this turned out to be untrue.

It depends on how you define "close." I went to BOFA's ATM locator at
http://bofa.via.infonow.net/atmbranch/jsp/index.jsp and punched in the
address of the Frontier, because it's pretty much in the middle of the
Strip, and it gave me 25 locations, some of which looked to be only blocks
from the Strip, but you'd still need motorized transportation. For those who
like to play Downtown, there's a BOFA there.

Winner of a "W2G" amount ($1200+), who elected to accept payment in
currency and were subsequently robbed (of the same amount) in the
casino's parking area, might well encounter additional problems at
tax-return time.

The W2G amount would still need to be reported as income. But, the
dollar amount lost due to the robbery would NOT (usually*) be
properly reportable as a "gambling loss". Most likely, it would need
to be reported as a "casualty loss"; deductible only to the extent
that it exceeded 10% of Adjusted Gross Income.

Any "recreational" gambler, with other income in excess of nine times
the W2G/robbery amount, would "most likely" be unable to deduct any
portion of what was lost due to the robbery.

*At least absent a credible allegation that Casino were party to the
robbery. Just about inconceivable if Casino were subject to NV
Gaming Control Board regulation, otherwise "rather improbable".
