As far as Las Vegas residents who are using non-Vegas addresses
are concerned, they are saving a ton of money.

Well what if you never have to file a claim.

So my car insurance doubled going from a small city in central Illinois to a
small city in northern Arizona. You saying Vegas will be another doubling or
worse?

I guess it's possible. You'd need to request a quote from a licensed NV
agent to have the exact premium quoted.

Or........you could do what one of our clients opted for, many years
ago, when he decided that the quoted premium for ensuring his
snowplows was too high.........just be careful! (-:

While your insurance could go up moving from Arizona to Nevada, your personal income tax will go away. This should give you enough money to more than make up for the difference in car insurance.

Put differently, there are unavoidable costs of living regardless of where you live. Car insurance is one of them. As far as being someone who never has to file a claim -- know that your experience will keep your rate lower than the rate of someone who does file claims. You can also do things to mitigate your rate -- take a safe driver course (if you're over 55), keep your car in a garage, move to a "safer" part of Las Vegas (yes, car insurance rates can vary by neighborhood), add security devices, etc.
