JW Double down stud?

I just played some 8s or better JW DDS at a casino that sometimes has bonus point days. Since you only double your bet ( and get coin in credit) during your advantage at over a 100% return = dealt 8s or better and open straights, flushes and A<K<Q<J unsuited, What CB / promo would you need to make this a profitable game - N>B> losing a few % on original 5 coin plays ?

it is over 700,000-1 to hit a royal so that is not a big factor

I don't have hard data at hand, but I believe the "8s or better" version of JW is one of the worst JW DDS variants found. (Think 90%-91% ER)

My guess is that the only profitable strategy is not to play.

Thanks but I will try to explore further.
The casino does not give points or let you use promos on the few decent games they offer - 9/6 jacks and pick em.
Everything else is negative.

Regular full pay DDS 6s or better that pays 2 units for jacks or better, and 3 units for 2 pair pays back about .97%- that is the strategy I had referred to- keeping A,K Q J unsuited

I do not know dds joker strategy or pay back % , but this machine paid 9/6 for Full house and flush, but no jacks or better , and 2 pair pays 2 units. I figure the payback is even lower on the draw, but higher on the double bet with the joker in play.
