Just an added note on live poker

1a. Just an added note on live poker

I played on tables that needed no live dealer. I played a NL game. I
bought in for $50 and was up and down until my last hand where I went
all in on K-J two pair to be beat by a fellow with 3-4 and the wheel
straight.

Interesting; thanks for the report -- I've heard about these, but this was the first report I've heard that I recall, from someone who's experienced it.

Where was this offered? Do you know if it's offered other places besides where you were?

Do you play online? If so, do you see much difference between online play and the electronic poker table with live players?

It sounds like these might be the "next big thing". But then what do
we call those machines? "Semi live poker"? "Video poker" is already
conflated with slot machines; this might further marginalise the term
and perhaps even the games (i.e. the video poker games) themselves.

It was at Four Winds in New Buffalo. That is why I added it to that
thread. I know sometimes the threads get confused.
I did play online before the law changed. It was very different
becaue you can see all the players and still get information although
not from their chip movement. I don't know it this exists other
places and have not seen much written about it either. I have not
seen that it is in Vegas yet.

Do you play online? If so, do you see much difference between

online play and the electronic poker table with live players?

I have read an article or two about these new electronic poker tables
and seen ads on them. I think it was in pokerplayernewspaper.com.
This comes from faulty memory but I think I have read there is
supposed to be a cardroom in Southern California with something like
a dozen of these devices. I also thought I seen an ad about one
table in a Vegas cardroom. Something about Sit 'n Go's. Don't
quote me on any of this. But I'll keep an eye out and will post it
up if I see something.

This phenomenon appears to be starting out slow, but I can see it
picking up steam when bean counters start looking at labor costs,
hands per hour, etc. Poker Dealers may go the way of share croppers
when the tractor came on the scene.

---Commerce Casino in LA has 200 Lightning Poker tables. Four Winds in
Buffalo has 19 Poker Pro tables. There are probably plenty more around or
coming onboard soon.
