Junkets from Texas??

I don't pay for anything in Wendover. Not the flights in, the rooms,

meals,

concerts. I don't even have to pay for my drinks if I'm just sitting
in one of the Cabarets catching a lounge act. I don't even pay for
haircuts.

So, which casino has a barbershop that comps haircuts?

Now, as to the original issue, my opinion would be that even though the
flight and room package is a heck of a deal, someone expecting a "Reno"
experience would be sorely disappointed by Wendover. (Well, actually West Wendover as
Wendover itself is in the wrong state to allow any sort of gaming.)

Montego Bay has a beauty salon located in the Health Spa on the second
floor. They do men too.

I would not compare it to Vegas or Reno, but as a stand-alone-gambling-
junket it's a pretty good deal. I'd call it a Laughlin, Jr. The town
is geared towards baby-boomers who can do without the big crowds. But
even Wendover gets real busy on the weekends.

BTW, you are correct that the gambling district is in West Wendover,
Nevada and not Wendover, Utah. But you are still in Utah when you
enter the doors of Montego Bay. When you get to the first machine you
will be in Nevada.

The annexation of Wendover into West Wendover cleared almost every
hurdle. It passed a vote of the citizens on both sides, it got through
the legislatures of both states involved, it even got through
Congress. It would have been a great thing for both sides as there ar
two of everything in Wendover/West Wendover: Two Post Offices, Two
Fire Departments, Two Police Departments, etc. But West Wendover
decided the Wendover debt would be too much to assume. Wendover
wouldn't take a lesser deal. So the whole thing went kaput!

Since I started this, I think the West Wendover information is very
helpful to someone like me who is looking for VP and is not in the
expert class...yet or ever, probably!

Thanks, Mickey. The only other thing I have learned is that there
does not appear to be any 'junket brokers'in the Austin/San Antonio
area like I have been familiar with. However, it appears that with
Harrah's you might have good luck being your own broker. I don't know
if that's a trend, but with Harrah's Laughlin, anyway (and I know
there are many others), qualified gamblers have quite a broad and
generous choice of trips from throughout the country. Ray

I don't know if this is any help or not but I intend to start using
Allegiantair.com in the future from up my way. They have "flight
only" "flight/w hotel", "flight/w hotel & car" packages. They are non-
stop flights.

It's easy to go to their website, punch in prospective dates and get
the package prices to all Las Vegas hotel/casinos.

I just went in to see if Allegiant has flights out of Texas. They have
flights from Laredo and McAllen listed. So I punched in Laredo to LV
departing 5/12, returning 5/16 to get an idea. The cheapest Harrah's
package was Imperial Palace at $410, Harrah's and Flamingo were listed
at about $650, Caesars was listed at $1050. They tack on $33 for
taxes, fees, and round-trip shuttle service.

I like the package prices for downtown myself. I haven't ran any
action downtown in quite awhile. But after I generate mailers with
room comps I can just book "flight only" deals for as cheap as $140
round-trip. Good luck.

Coming from you, Bob, with your knowledge, skill and standing in the VP
world, that's quite a complement. Thank you. Good luck.
