I wonder if our group would qualify as it's own junket group to gambling destinations. Does anyone know a travel company that would take us on?

Les,

Absolutely a great idea! If others are interested in
junkets, I'd love to put together a customized trip
for the members of vpFREE.

There are so many fun possibilities. Maybe you guys
would like your own tourney & reception? I recently
put together a junket for a group in Las Vegas, and
did their welcome party at the Foundation Room, a
members only private club at the top of Mandalay Bay.
They had a blast!

Let me know what you think,

Jaime

Let me know what you think,

Jaime

Jaime, can you tell me what precisely you mean by junket. When I
was younger, it seemed to have a different meaning than today.
Today it seemed to mean chartered trip. Can you clarify?

Thanks

Sure.

First, a formal definition taken from a casino operations textbook
Junket - A group of players who travel to a casino specifically for
the purpose of faming. The travel and accommodations are
prearranged through a junket representative and the players' costs
associated with both traveling to and staying at the casino are
normally offset by the casino.

Junket Representative - The individual who is responsible for
organizing junkets.

Since many junket operators cannot fill an entire plane, junket reps
today typically work with casinos, who charter either an entire
plane for their reps to fill, or with seat blocks the casinos pre-
purchase on commercial airlines.

From a players perspective, little is different. The changes are
more from the operational side..

Hope that helps..

Jaime

Hmmmm..... thinking perhaps that is "gaming", not faming. Going to show my age here: when I was a kid "Junket" was some sort of jello type dessert. Vaguely remember TV commercials for it.....I think. Yes they did have TV then lol

Hi LIz,

Actually, Jello was quite a delicacy compared to the pink Junket
that my Mother tried to convince me was actually......dessert. It
tasted something like flavored solid milk, but nothing like ice
cream.

Ah, the good old days....

Heading to the Winnipeg Casinos in a bit...any good VP??

No good vp - best is maybe 96%, but I haven't checked for 6 mo. or so.
Used to have (2 years ago) double deuces wild (99.6% I think), and good wonging in 2000.
