The other 6 in the back near the theatre are scheduled to go next. They said 6 months but they also said 2 weeks for the first set and they went in 2 days. What is this world coming to...

..and a very difficult 97.19 at that.
I kind of feel like someone should lay a wreath over that carousel. I
really feel sorry for the two or three people who were scraping out a
living playing it. There were a bunch of regulars who played those
machines, all very nice people. (The former) Mrs. Paladin and I would
play it from time to time.

This is really sad. I come to Vegas about once a month and always
make it a point to play these machines. They were fun and somtimes
picked up a couple of bucks.
There was a similar setup at the Stardust. Only the machines were
three-play nickels. There was Jokers and several other full pay
games available. One early morning I was playing at these machines
and some suits came by with clipboards. Asked me to step back for a
minute while they opened the machines. Looking over their shoulders
I could see they were checking a screen which had hold percentages.
The casino was getting a 4% hold, and this was the same on the
several machines that I could peek in on. Within the next couple of
days the pay tables were downgraded. I guess 4% just isn't good
enough.
