John,
I received an email from you today. The subject is: re: Thanks!
There was an attachment to it that Norton detected as a threat and
deleted the attachment. Just thought you'd like to know as other's
from this list may be getting same.

Stan: thanks for the concern, but if I recall correctly, the latest batch o' worms "lies" about who the sender is. It grabs an email address at random from the infected computer and uses that as its bogus "from" address. So, all we can really say is that the infected computer has, at some point in the past, received an email from me (or sent one to me), but that's about it. I've got a brand-new version of Norton antivirus, and it says everything's hunky-dory. (Which probably means that my hard drive is being erased even as I write this).... :^)

This is strange. I got one today from quadzilla666 with a subject line of
"incoming message". The body of the message said "your file is attached.
Archive password 84601". There were two attachments. One named
wnyrkodbam.bmp (2.07KB) and one named Details.zip (4 bytes). My anti-virus
software generated the following report:

I received an email today supposedly from my server's administration
@sbcglobal.net. I scanned the email and it came up with the bagel
virus. It wanted me to enter my information to continue my email
saying it had been discontinued due to improper usage. In order to
continue I was to send that info. I just wanted to let others know.
What made me suspicious was the fact it came in my bulk mail.
