JOB Question: $1.00 9/6 vs. $0.25 8/5 (Ballys / Paris)

--I know this level of play won't get me a free room, but it's enough to
rack up some cash back and a little off the bill at the end of my stay. I
know that the play between the three casinos is linked. What's interesting
is my last trip I stayed at Bally's and gambled mostly at Caesar's (overall
about 60% at Caesars, 20% at Ballys and 20% at Paris) and when I called all
three for my upcoming stay I got the best offer at Caesar's - they wouldn't
offer any discount better than internet rates at Ballys or Paris. I guess my
assumption was that since all three were linked I would get similar
discounts at all three hotels, with Bally's being the lowest since it is
normally the cheapest of the three.

Back to my original question though - I looked at the following website
http://www.lotspiech.com/GamblersRuin.html and it looks like it has the
answer to my original question. ER for JOB 9/6 is about 99.5% and ER for JOB
8/5 is 97.3%, with the Royal Flush accounting for about 2%. If I play the $1
JOB 9/6 and only play $1 at a time, the ER should be about 97.5%, which is
just a tad better than the ER for full coin in JOB 8/5. My goal with playing
$1 at a time, vs $1.25 at a time, is to make my money last longer, so I
guess it makes sense when playing at these two casinos to play the $1
machine $1 at a time. I will try to play mostly at Caesar's though on the
JOB 9/6 quarter machines, there are just times that I will want to play at
Bally's and Paris (I like to play at the Paris bar with a few cups of coffee
and a chocolate croissant).

I assume you are staying at Paris or Ballys, and want to play there
to get rooms comps rather than cross ths Bldv. to Caesars which is
has 9/6 and is on the same card. I suggest you talk to a host when
you arrive to determine their comp policy. You may ask if play at
Bally's counts if you are staying at Paris, or visa-versa. If a
comp discretionary room comp (or partial comp) is not feasible for 5
quarters or one dollar play, consider playing at Caesars and using
earned points towards your room.

Ballys and Paris comps are freely interchangeable....NOT because they
are part of Caesars Enterntainment Group but because they are sister
hotel/casinos. They share marketing departments. Caesars and Flamingo
are not part of this arrangement. Therefore, I would not hesitate to
play at Ballys or Paris if I stayed at the other but I would strongly
hesitate to play at Caesars or Flamingo. Hope that made sense.

BTW...For the most bang for your buck you should be considering
playing the .25 BP (99.2) that you can find scattered throughout
Bally's.
