While I agree that suggesting that customers were demanding to pay resort fees is quite a stretch, I would imagine this ends up being a good thing for the majority of people here. Platinum and up do not get the resort fee assessed, so assuming they still get the in-room internet and fitness center access, these are added perks.

This comment threw me. To the best of my knowledge, no CET resort/casino hotel provides "in-room internet" service as part of the "resort fee"; there is always an additional "fee" for in-room internet service.

Daily Resort Fee
The daily resort fee provides you with a comprehensive bundle of amenities, including:
1. Internet service for one device
2. Fitness center access for two
3. Free local calls

Thanks for the reply - and I'm not doubting the information, but could you tell me where this information is located? I went searching around on the Total Rewards site and then went to the FAQs page and did a search of the term "resort fee". What came up were links to the various casino locations, and each one still lists a fee breakdown.

Wasn't the whole point that the upper tier clubmembers don't pay the resort feed?
Ergo: NOTHING CHANGES FOR THEM!.
Upper tier card/club folks get that fee waived.
And that statement by Management about demand?Well demand for their rooms was great enough theythought they could get away with the fee is how it works.

If you go to the reservations area, when the room options come up the resort fee is under the price. I forget whether you just put your mouse over it or actually have to click on it, but a window will appear with what I pasted.

Yes the Wynn/Encore has this policy , but its not bundled into their offers - you have to pay $25 x ( number of nights ) extra for this. Considering how wonderful the Wynn fitness center/spa is, it's a bargain. I once checked in for 3 nights at 8:15PM . Since it was late , I figured I would not use the spa or internet for day 1, so I requested a 2 day package. After deliberating with backroom for 15 minutes, and checking here and there , the head clerk said - "Sorry sir, we figured out how to create the 8th wonder of the world in the Wynn Encore, but we cannot figure out how to charge a 2 day package for a 3 night stay !" That said , I rejected the all-or-nothing offer .

Just received the news of the death of Barbara Gonzales-Dent, one of our all-time favorite hosts. I believe she first was at the Stratosphere and then more recently at New York New York. She had been fighting cancer for many months and showed such a positive attitude the whole time.

She was the kind of host that every player loves, always working hard to get the best for each of us.

My condolences to her family. Yes, she was a very unique and caring host. I met her for the first time at the Stra and then follow her to NYNY. She was always trying to sell me the bridge in front of the property. Before the days when a host could easily comp RFB she was always accommodating and fair. This is another case of a "shoulda". I shoulda stop by in previous trips to LAS to say 'hello'.

Jean, thanks for posting. I for one will miss her gentleness, kindness and her smiles.
