Great article, Jean. I agree with your points regarding the double-up option.

Stud poker also has a double-up option that's offered after you see the first four of five cards. If you're playing at a casino, like the Orleans, that awards coin-out points instead of coin-in points you can really rack up points. That's because if you are dealt any winner, a pair of nines or better in this game, then you are getting double points on an even money return. (If you are dealt a pair of nines, for example, and don't improve, then you doubled your bet to 10--assuming max coins-- and you're returned 10, even money. You're credited with a 10 coin win rather than five. It's even better when the first four cards are trips or four of a kind.)
