Jackpot with Different Players Card

Actually, what Babe wrote is not quite true. I've been told by personnel at the Atlantis that if I have the wrong card (even my spouse's card) in a machine at the Atlantis, they may not pay me if I hit the "Instant Fortune" or "Rapid Fortune" jackpots (Atlantis' equivalent of the Station's Jumbo jackpots).

Most promotions at the Peppermill don't care whether you use your or your spouse's card, but the Peppermillions drawing is an exception.

Peppermill will sometimes balk at honoring some coupons for your spouse (like the hit xx hand on VP and get a play on Mr. Money's Challenge).

Playing on cards other than immediate family members may get you cut off at the Peppermill and the Atlantis, both places are vigilant for team play.

I know of at least three casinos where husband and wife are allowed,
even encouraged, to play on the same card. Two are in Reno; the
Peppermill and the Atlantis. I believe that Silver Legacy also
subscribes to this policy. The other casino is the Golden Nugget in
LV. In all three of those venues both EH and I have the same card
club number, on separate cards, inscribed with each of our names.

I was actually referring to "normal" VP play, not promotional
jackpots. I will certainly defer to Part Timer's superior knowledge
of those events. IMO, the chance of receiving an Instant or Rapid
Fortune jackpot is so remote, as to be a non-event.

I do know that my host at the Atlantis is well aware that EH and I
play on the same card. Nine times out of ten, I am at Atlantis solo.
On those occasions, the host always asks "why I didn't bring EH with
me in order to generate more points on my card".

Also, as I mentioned previously, we each have an Atlantis card, with
our own names inscribed, but with the same player's number. This is
conclusive enough evidence for me that casino management both knows
and condones spouses using the same card.

I've had very similar experiences when I played at the Peppermill,
as I've had at the Atlantis. This includes the individual cards for
each of us.

EH has never tried to use a promotional coupon with my name on it. I
am always there when he is. He does not get offers/coupons etc. in
his name. They all come addressed to me.

At the Silver Legacy we also have our own cards with the same number
inscribed. I've never discussed this with anyone there, but because
I'm always with him, it's never been an issue. I have been
advised by another married couple, who wished to play on SEPARATE
cards (in order to receive dual offers for their individual strong
play) that the SL would NOT permit them to receive more than one
offer to the same mailing address. This was so off-putting to them,
that they have not patronized the SL since that time.

I can certainly understand that rule, and can hardly blame the
casinos for vigorously enforcing it.

I have personally been the receipient of major hassling by local
teams at the Peppermill, when the Pepp still offered $1.00 FPDW. I
have been sworn at and had smoke delibrately blown in my face to
chase me off a machine that a team member wished to play. Only a
stubbornly resilient spirit and a very loud yell for security,
caused the FEMALE team member who was bothering me to back off.

I realize that this egregious behavior is not typical of all teams.
But, unfortunately, a few rotten apples have poisoned the barrel
against teams, both from the standpoint of the casino and the
rec player.
