Hey so I visited the Spirit Mountain casino in Grand Ronde, Ore. over the weekend. Contrary to what the database says, there is 9-6 DDB in .25, .50, $1 and $2, but only in the non-smoking room (which is ideal for me). There is .0125 cash back in form of free play most days, cash on some days.

This casino was a 3-hour, 55-minute drive from Seattle with virtually no traffic, but up to 5 hours when traffic is bad. It's 60 to 90 minutes from Portland.

The only downside is the lack of slant-top machines. These machines were the newer upright models with the big buttons, and they were on the verge of actually being painful to play. I guess that's one way to keep people off the machines!

Oh and you can't drink alcohol on casino floot. How weird ...

Hi Casey!

I'm a VP player "in-training". I saw your photo - congratulations! My question is, is there a reason that you held the 7? Is that what is called a kicker and if so, I thought a kicker was a 2, 3, or 4?

Need help understanding!

Looks like the person ( I am not Casey)was playing Bonus poker(double double bonus poker has the 2,3,4 kicker)----there is no kicker in this game. The reason to hold all the cards is---you can't improve the hand. Therefore, to minimize a mistake you hold all the cards.
