Interesting thread regarding Wendover reminded me of another bordertown and a story.
In about 1993 I spent a few nights in Jackpot, NV and it was very small with a main hotel and a few saloons with some vp and slots. At about noon one day I checked out one of the saloons and played a quarter bartop vp. I never before nor after have seen a vp machine like this where the cards kind of spun from the deal/draw in like fireworks to the display. After less than ten hands I hit a royal for like $1175.00. Awesome but the kicker was the guy at the bar paid the jackpot out of his wallet. No joke this was/is a one horse town. I have never been back. Very spooky the way the place is so isolated.
