It happened again, card unholds itself

The display showed what you should expect. The card that you are sure you held became unheld just before you hit deal. What the memory shows on replay is what was actually held on the machine , not what you had tried to hold.

Your position, is to tell management that nobody would have held what you held, therefore there was a mechanical problem and you should be paid the difference. This is what I and others have tried to describe to you in other posts, but it is a difficult concept and can be hard to visualize.

Playing NSUD tody and was dealt a pat straight with a deuce.

The cards were, 3x, 4x 2x, 5x 6h. I held all five, double checked that they all showed held and pushed the deal button. That is my best recollection. Immediately the 6h disappears and in its place pops a Kh in the final hand.

I had them recall the memory of the dealt cards and sure enough the 6h shows as being dealt, but not as being held. I am sure I held it, as on any pat hand, I always look at it twice and then push deal.

Needless to say, I had no proof of holding the card. I did not even request to be made whole, as all I was interested in was what the memory showed.

I guess if it ever happens on a really big hand, I am just out of luck.

Not showing it as held is kind of contrary to what others have reported when something similar happened to them, so who know what, or how.

Any comments are welcome, but I am sure I held the card and that it showed held. Can I prove it, like I said above no.

The only reason I had it checked was to see what it showed , as I was not upset about losing 10 credits.

Well, I have understood that ok, but some say it shows as held, and some say it doesn't, so that is what is confusing. I reread old posts and some say it shows as held. Personally I think I agree with you all the way.

I understand that also, I am just saying without proof of holding you are at the mercy of the casino's policy or the judgement of a person. You have no proof. I have understood your logic all along.

My GF and I were playing at the upstairs bar at Sam's Town, the Stage Coach, and we were playing the same machines we were playing the night before. On her machine, there was one button that you would push and it would hold, only to see it "unhold" just as you'd hit the draw button. We mentioned it to the bartender and told him to get a tech up there. No one came when we were playing and we left to go to bed.

Next night we were playing the same machines, and my GF got 4 to a Royal. I watched he hit the hold buttons, and just as she hit the draw button, one came unheld. She wound up hitting the Royal if the one card would have held. Really pissed, she had the bartender call the tech to show the hands as dealt. He tried out the buttons, ans sometimes it held and sometimes it didn't. He had to get ahold of someone else to make the final decision whether she got paid or not. After about a half hour of seeing no one, they finally agreed to payout the Royal and to reset the progressive.

They also had spoken to the bartender who we had reported the problem the night before. He verified that we had complained about it. Good thing we tip the bartenders well.

I have encountered that also. That is traceable to a specific button and like you pointed out can be duplicated and thus fixed.
