It Finally Happened!

After living and playing in Las Vegas for the past 8 years, it finally
happened!! I was DEALT a royal on nickel 9 line Spinpoker on the 10/7
Double Bonus machines at the Fiesta Rancho last night!! I've had bigger
jackpots but none that were more shocking than seeing that dealt royal.
For a very brief second, it looked like some sort of malfunction to me,
(the way the screen appears prior to playing with a spade royal on it,
and my royal was in spades,) and then it locked up for 9 royals at $200
apiece for $1800! Cool! Very thrilling! Now I know what it feels like
when others talk about it!

Scot

Excellent!

I had a royal this week also, but at Palace Station. I know that
feeling of shock when you see it. I had a flush dealt and that flush
was also 4-to-a-royal. I "dumped" the 5 of spades and jokingly "told"
the machine to serve up the King of Spades. Lo and behold, "he"
appeared right on cue! I just sat there for a second not quite
believing what I saw. Methinks that's the kind of experience we all
play this game for. It's a real kick in the butt when it happens!
Here's hoping your next royal does not require so long a wait!

I didn't mean to give the impression that we have never had royals

before. Plenty of them. But NEVER a DEALT one before for either my wife
or myself. And I did my fair share of complaining last year missing lots
of 4 to the royal draws! A dealt one just makes your head spin for a few
seconds as if to say, "What am I seeing on the screen?" Thanks to
everyone for your congratulatory messages. Now my wife, who is usually
the "lucky" one between us is extremely jealous and wants to duplicate
my feat ASAP! I can only hope she'll be as lucky...very soon!

Scot

Scot, I know the feeling. I was dealt a Royal at Palace Station this
past Saturday. I was stunned, the experience for that few seconds
is, what went wrong and then you realize it is for real.

This is strange to me because I had asked this very question a few
months ago and was surprized at how many people have accomplished
this feat.

Super Story and I hope for many more for you,
David

First, Scot: Congrats, and welcome to the club!

With so few reports of dealt royals, the fact that I hit one as well
on the 13th has me wondering if IGT programmed a "special" run on them :).

Actually, since statistically something like 1 in 16 royals will be
dealt (actual value depends on the game), I imagine there's more than
a couple that occur in this group in any month.

However, considering royal droughts for 4 and 5 cycles are reported
with some frequency, it wouldn't be at all surprising if there are
many avid players here who've seen 2 or 3 million hands go by without one.

I guess it does not occur to me to post a dealt royal. But I'll say
this. I went from November 1st thru February 24th without a royal. I
was second guessing my play. I've had twelve since then. Five on
dollars, two sequentials (although not on a machine that paid
extra), plus one dealt royal. This past seven day period, I've had
FIVE royals, so this game is damn streaky and you should always be
thrilled when one shows it's cards.

To test your theory of a run on dealt royals, I just got a dealt
royal this morning on a $1 Progressive. It was also the first dealt
royal of my career.
