It a sign of the times - bad times at Golden Nugget

" The gold nuggets that were on display at the Golden Nugget for nearly 30 years have been removed and will be sent to auction. "

I noticed that nuggets were MIA when I stayed at the GN in July. But
I thought perhaps they were just being relocated during the remodeling.

I hope that golden nugget collection finds a good home, perhaps with
the Million Dollar display that used to attract so many gawkers at
Binions!

Does this $1,000,000 collection still exist intact? If so, do you know where it is now? I
had read that it was the largest collection of $10,000 bills ever assembled (or, was it
$1,000 bills?...the old memory is not what it used to be!). But, I also thought that I had
read that it was broken up and sold to raise cash, a couple of year ago.

In a similar vein, the (former) Binion's Horsheshoe Casino in Shreveport, now owned by
Harrah's, still has Jack Binion's $1,000,000 wall that was made up of $100 bills. It is not
nearly as exotic as the $10,000 (or $1,000?) bill collection was, but it is still something
neat to "gawk" at.

That was a display of one hundred $10,000 bills displayed in a giant
horseshoe at Binions
in Vegas. The U.S.Government no longer issues that denomination of currency.
The display is question is at The Golden Nugget is of genuine gold nuggets
and one of them is (was?)
to believed to be the largest in the world.I am not sure of the exact value
but it is HUGE

Again, does anyone know if this collection still exists intact? And, if it does, where is it?

Thanks!

You can still "buy" bills larger than $100 from collectors, even though they are no longer
printed. And, they are still legal tender.
