Here is another bugaboo you need to be on the lookout for: When you play at multiple IOC locations, your comps can be affected at your home location--in a negative way!
I generally play at the IOC in North Kansas City. This summer I played several days at the IOC in Biloxi. When I got back and started playing at NKC, it was pretty clear I was not getting any comp whatsoever. When I inquired about the problem, they researched my account and discovered I had been earning no comp since my play at Biloxi due to a system problem triggered by my play at an IOC casino that was not my home casino.
They corrected the problem and I have been earning comp since.

In all the years of reading about casinos playing stupid human tricks

I'll make a couple trips per year to the IOC Boonville to keep my gas
money rolling in and I've made trips to IOC KC in the past. On my most
recent trip tDefino IOC KC over the summer, I gave them a decent amount
of coin but never recd any mail. One of my favorite hosts recently
migrated to IOC KC and I've now learned why I don't receive mail from
KC.
It turns out the IOC sends out mailers ONLY from their property that is
designated to be your dominant location. So if you play 50K CI at one
location, then give a different location 25K you only get mail from the
first property.
I don't think their head of marketing will be attending any Harvard
Business school reunions.
