We have not been back to the Isle since last June when they announced
the new doubled requirements for the Paradise level. The last time we
were there I was told that I was over comped and since then have
received puny cashback coupons and no hotel coupons.
Because it was convenient, we decided to drive over yesterday. We had
no trouble getting a room comped over the phone. When I went to the
desk to get some new player cards, the lady said, "oh, BTY, you know
you are Paradise, don't you?" Heck no! Nobody told me. Maybe if they
had, we would have gone back sooner.
I don't know if they have quiety lowered their new lofty standards or
what exactly happened. My host's mailbox has been full for three days
so I have not talked to her. I do know that employees were complaining
of low turnout and slow days. Perhaps the economy, Gustav and Ike have
made them more appreciative of those who do come. When we got home, I
had two new sets of coupons for October w/ better CB in the mailbox.
The casino was very dead for a Saturday night. Of course, no
promotions were going on either.
