Is this promotion for real for new sign ups? 20x points for new sign ups

At Buffalo Bill's and Primm's casino in Primm, NV (about a 45 min drive from Vegas).

I noticed the 20x points for new members within the first 24 hours of play. Free Play normally =0.25% cashback but with the offer the free play comes out to be 5% cash back. I'm just wondering if there is any maximum point limit. I called the players card front desk a few times and they don't know of any limitations or restrictions. Just that the points would be added a day after playing on your new card. Anyone have idea on the promotion? Been to Primm? It may be worth it to burn a free ticket on Southwest and play a day at the casino if it's worth it. I live in the midwest so I'm debating whether it's worth my time. Any thoughts?

I drove down there tonight to check it out. I figured if it was actually a good deal, posting it on vpFREE would kill it so I'd better get there quickly. The limit is 1000 points ($1000 coin-in) which earns you $50 cash back. The best game I saw at Buffalo Bills was 8/5 Bonus, but it was only available for $5 and $10. That makes your expected loss on $1000 coin in $8.34. If you want to play a quarter or dollar game, your expected loss will be closer to $20 to earn the $50 bonus. In my opinion its not worth driving down from Vegas to collect --- but if you're driving to or from California along I15 between now and the end of June, it makes sense to stop in and pick up the free money. Otherwise, let it go. Bob

Do they define "new sign ups" as never having had a card, or will "not for several years" do?

What has it come to, this sensible life?

The most important take away is that even if there were no limitations or restrictions on this you would have never gotten to play it because by posting it on vpfree - even in the form of a question - it's going to get burned out before you get there.

Excellent point Kamango. It is sad when our "leaders and angels" are the first ones carrying the torch...

That is a fact of life --- which was why I was on the road to Primm soon after I read the post. When certain things become public, you snooze you lose. You can complain about things getting burned out all you want. But the smarter action is to take advantage when you see it and let the others complain later. In this case the people who waited got a post saying "don't waste the time and gas." That's actually valuable information --- although if you're in the mood to complain about "others" burning out plays you might not appreciate the value of that information. Good question but I didn't ask --- and the blurb they give out doesn't go into that level of detail. Since it's worth $40 EV at most and it's too-far-out-of-the-way if you're not traveling along I15 to or from California, not knowing this is hardly a showstopper. It'll cost you 10 minutes to go inside and find out if you are on that highway. You can even stretch your legs a bit and go pee at no extra charge. One good thing there is that the player's club is inside the casino cage --- which means it never closes. Bob

Bob - I don't think there's even a hint of me complaining about things getting burned out in my message.....I simply stated that it is going to happen if a great play - even in the form of a question - gets posted to vpfree. Which happens to be essentially the same thing you just stated in your reply. Note also that I wasn't even replying to your message, my reply was to the original poster. I can understand though if you're a little overly sensitive to these boards after getting blamed for every bad thing that's happened to video poker over the past ten years.

My point again, quite simply, to anyone who thinks they may have found a great promotion but aren't sure of the details…..is that there are two possible outcomes if you post it on vpfree. 1) There is some type of limitation (such as a maximum) that you will find out which makes it not such a great promotion. 2) It actually IS a great promotion, but it's going to get burned down before you get there. PERIOD. There is no 3) People will check it out for you and you will get to play it next time you're in town.

Well said. I apologize for mis-interpreting your earlier post. Bob
