Two quick questions. One- Should the term 'Burn-Out Artist'be added to
the sites glosaary? Two-Is Bob Dancer a burn out artist? One could
deduce by reading his book,'Million Dollar Video Poker', that he is
indeed. Ive personally never met him formally. Ive hit the same plays
with him twice and each instance the play was burned down fast. One in
particular was at the River Palms in Laughlin. I was amongst the 1st
to play the 10/7 multi-strikes and the dime 100-play NSU. Then during
a truck or car giveaway, I was pounding away when suddenly the crown
price of VP sits down next to me. Even though I recognized him, I said
nothing and we played on. A few weeks later the multi-strikes and 100-
plays were history. One could assume some River Palm's higher-up also
recognized him and got paranoid. Mr. Dancer is one of the few pros who
could burn down a play just by his/her mere presence, regardless of
whether they're winning. Would this qualify him as the Alfa-BurnOut
artist, the creme-de-le-creme of play killers? Perhaps, but worse yet
are those moronic hogs who play two machines 30 hrs. straight after an
methamphetamine binge!
Is the DanceMan a burn-out artist?

I've never had occasion to find fault with anything you contribute
here, spd, but on this one occasion my gut reaction is "Get a life".
I can't imagine what you might expect to arise from this thread that
would be in the least constructive, informative, or enlightening (much
less, entertaining). It's merely an invitation to begin another
bash/defend rant. Any prior such discussion is sufficient proxy.

This goes back five years or so. I ran into a friend at the River
Palms. We sat at the bar downstairs as he explained to me that he
just lost another play. It was a bonus deuce(100.9) game with strong
meters that I was not aware was in River Palms. So I got to hear
about it the day after it disapeared.
He told me that "the play got posted on the internet two days ago and
was gone by yesterday." Then he added this "The Slot Manager went to
a Dancer seminar for casinos executives and Dancer told them to
monitor the VP websites to see what plays in their respective casinos
are getting posted."

Yep! That's how it works. Bob denies that he did it. Plausible
deniability, don't you know.
Shortpaydan's story was interesting to me because everyone knows Bob
had extensive dealings with River Palms long before multi-strike came
out.
It was the section downstairs known as "??? Corral." There was
something like 25 or 30 quarter machines, with a few 50 centers, that
were "Bob Dancer Certified 100%." The whole promotion got press in
Strictly Slots and other gambling rags.
It wasn't big enough for pros but was a bargain for low-rollers.
River Palms also had the reputation of making mistakes in their
mailers and when bigger bankrolls came in on them they would get
pitched out. Most of the heat was on the dollar and five dollar
triple-play and five-play 10/7.
I can't imagine that they didn't know who Bob was when he was in
playing the multi-strike.

Harry, I don't think you can fully appreciate how much Bob is hated by
VP professionals everywhere, on so many different levels. I've had my
rant already on my website, you can look for it if you haven't read it
already. I will add this much, though, I think the guy is losing money
writing and teaching, rather than going out and getting plays. OTOH,
some people like being tethered close to home, and I can appreciate that.
Frankly, I really don't understand all the things Bob does, my exec
summary is that he needs to not be the best VP professional, but the
only one. But, in advantage play, it takes all kinds. The VP hustlers
are much more mellow, compared, say, to their table games counterparts.
In VP, you're always are going to have to deal with the
economy-minded, who see only EV and not what the real world is about,
i.e., casino pain tolerance levels. Consider what happened in your
burg last week with a play that got burned out (and several players
apparently restricted in the process).

It's not inflammatory at all. People are just voicing their opinions.
Isn't that what is so great about this Group? We can all express
our opinions, even if they differ from someone else's?
