As far as ambience goes, Morongo is pretty much the spitting image of The Palms, with one exception - very little VP. You're pretty much relegated to the bars there if you want to play - there was one row of stand-ups the last time I was there and that was it. The rooms are nice. However, the night life is good there and they frequently have great concerts so check the schedule. (There's a good outdoor outlet mall right next door).
I've only been to Spotlight 29 once and didn't like the vibe and left soon thereafter.
The last time I was at Agua Caliente, they had an adequate selection of machines to play as far as vp is concerned. Did well there to. Haven't been to Spa Casino yet.
Fantasy Springs about 30 mins. farther down the road in Indio isn't too bad - much more VP available. They also have a sports book where you can bet on the ponies. Nice rooms and a great outdoor bar/pool area where bands play. They have a good nightclub there as well.

"Haven't played in the Palm Springs area yet -- are any of the casinos
there worth the effort? Going there next week. The choices would be
Spa Casino, Agua Caliente, Morongo or Spotlight 29 (if that's still its
name). Any recommendation would be welcome, thanks!"
