When replying to a post, as above, I usually delete the "posted by"
line (NOT as above). Is this OK? In my opinion, it de-personalizes
the discussion, and makes it about the subject, not the person.
That's fine. It's not always necessary or desirable to specifically
identify who wrote what (as I didn't identify you in this post), but
it really helps if you clearly differentiate the comments of everyone
you're quoting in a response.
