Harrah's hotel is a little worn, the 360 steakhouse
restaraunt on the top floor is pretty good. The casino is
on a boat - its the lowest end casino in the area clientele
wise ( Ameristar boat and Horseshoe - free standing ) but
has the best paying VP ( 10/7 JOB last time I was there ) of
the 3 on the top deck. Other food options are weak - Aces
Diner and a $9.99 low end buffet. Harrah's is the only
casino in the area with nickle VP. They used to have penny
a few years back !
The Horseshoe is more of a Vegas style casino , all one
floor. Buffet fair , Binions restaraunt very good but $$$,
Whiskey Roadhouse has live music and some light bar food.
Diner has a decent burger and some specials. Drinks are
more expensive than Harrah's. There are a few older 9/6 $1
machines. No decent Deuces Wild machines. Diamond lounge
and separate high limit tables room. Also , live greyhound
racing and OTB parlor attached. Harrah's runs a shuttle from
the hotel over to the Horseshoe - about 3 miles.
Ameristar has a boat / hotel nearby also. Decent buffet for
$15.99, Sports bar with good food, also a BBQ / steakhouse
sit down place $$, Cafe / Diner for snacks and a hot dog
cart on the lower level right in the casino. OK 9/6 VP on
the top deck and some on 2nd floor. Quarter and Dollar
machines. Some pretty good VP $2+ in the high limit slot
area - 4 or 5 machines.
Let me know if that helps or if you hav eany more questions.

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I just booked a Labor Day weekend trip to the Harrah's/Horseshoe
in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
We were wondering if anyone could offer us some insight as the quality of
the accommodations, games, eating venues, VIP lounges, service etc. there.
Thanks in advance for any help rendered.
Regards,
