On Sunday, both John and I received separate phone calls from a survey company inviting us to some sort of gaming expo in early December. They offered us $150 each to participate in a two-hour session, saying they wanted to know what we thought about casinos. I have no idea where they got our names (I suspect Fiesta or Stations, because I - but not John - have answered their surveys before). (We play mostly at Coast now -- a little bit at Red Rock and next to nothing at Fiesta.) John declined to participate, but I haven't decided (basically because it's being held in Henderson, which is quite a trek for me). Has anyone else been invited to such a thing? What should I expect? If nothing else, it seems like it's worth it to get $150 to bitch about the NSUD at the Suncoast Sports Bar. (I'm still steaming mad!)

Invitation to Gaming Survey
Hi Steve:
I've never been invited to one of these for gaming, but when I lived
in Philly and handled purchasing for my company I was routinely
invited to participate in focus groups for office supply companies.
It usually took 2-3 hours and they paid $100 or so. See if you can
find out who is organizing the expo--especially if they're going to
try to sell you something. You'd probably not want to sit through a 2
hour timeshare pitch, but if it's legitimate market research they're
conducting it's probably worth it for $150, IMHO (EV=$75/hr). And
you'll get to vent about the Suncoast downgrades!
Let us know what happens.
Drew
