Invitation to a Wake for the Ho

We "lived" at the Ho for the first 10 years or so of our casino gambling
"career," staying there on every visit from our home in Indianapolis. It
was the first place we had a room comp, a food comp, and used coupons. We
have eaten more of their obscenely huge hot dogs than my stomach cares to
remember! Pigged out on their strawberry shortcakes. Scoured their trash
cans for thrown-away coupons for their mini-breakfasts. So what if there
was a little catsup and mustard on them - I could wipe that off for
something FREE!

Those were the days! It is fitting we be there to bid it a fond
farewell!!!!! So, on the 16th of November (day before it closes), Brad and
I will be there to lead a wake.

From around 8:40 to 9 a.m. I will be a guest on a live radio remote show at
the Ho with Joe Scheibinger of Backstage Live, on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ, a
Wisconsin station. They will be broadcasting from the Main Stage next to
the bar. After the interview, Brad and I will stick around to chat with
anyone who wants to say their goodbyes. Come one, come all to share our
grief at the passing of another part of vintage Vegas!

What a great lead-in to an admission of guilt. Having visited Las
Vegas since 1978, and now having lived here for a few years, I had
never set foot inside the Ho. But I did a couple of weeks ago when I
heard it was closing. I ended up taking a lot of great outdoor
pictures, as well as a number of stealth photos inside of the signage
and decor. some of the machines are practically antiques (LOL, by that
I mean over 10 years old). My conclusion was the place was like an
older store that just didn't keep up with the times.

We "lived" at the Ho for the first 10 years or so of our casino

gambling

"career," staying there on every visit from our home in

Indianapolis.

Wow, sounds like lots of fun, I fondly remember being quite a fan of the cheap margaritas there. Sorry I can't join you, won't be in Vegas until December, but have Fun....Liz

Wish I could. I placed my first casino wager at the Ho. I'd wrestle for
the last Ho dog... Loser has to eat it:-)
