I was vacationing in my native New York State and made a brief
visit to Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack in Farmington, N.Y. While
there I was fortunate enough to hit a RF on a $.25 DBVP. The machine
immediately printed a ticket for the $1000. When I cashed the ticket in
I received a W2-G for the $1000. The "Type of Wager" on the form
is "lottery". The NYS operated casinos actually are under the authority
of The NYS Lottery Commission so all wagers are consdiered lottery
wagers therefore under different guidelines than commercial casinos. I
just found it interesting. But happy......
