I was playing dollar pick em at a Detroit casino and the gentleman
next to me was playing 6/5 bonus poker. He was dealt T T T 9 Q. He
held the 3 tens and then said "Which one, which one?" Before I could
say anything, he also held the Q. I asked him why he held another
card. He didn't say anything so I tried to explain that any
fullhouse pays the same and he limits his chances for quads. The
very next hand he was dealt 3 fours. He looked at me and then kept
the 3 fours and didn't improve. He then gave a look that said " See,
it doesn't matter if I hold a card or not". Very rarely do I offer
unsolicited advice, but this time I made an exception.
I tried to use a Northwest Travel Credit Voucher (TCV) for an
upcoming LV trip. The TCV is good for a free flight. I found decent
flight times. punched in the TCV number and was told my flight would
be $121. It turns out that if the free seat allotment is all used
up, the TCV becomes a $200 flight credit with no restrictions. When
we got the voucher, we had the choice of $300 flight credit or free
flight. If you take the $300 credit, there are no restrictions. The
free flight seats are limited.
It's not a bad system, I just wish they had explained that when we
got the voucher.
