We did not play at Palms today, but met friends for dinner there. Since they
were delayed getting there, I played, not using my card. Palms has a
reputation for "tripping" you for short play, thereby lowering a local players cash
back offers.
While waiting for the friends, a marketing employee showed up and offered me
a slot club card. I showed her my card, not in the machine, and told her why
I was playing without my card inserted. I told her I would be penalized for
short play if I used my card. She said she would mention it to
management...Yes! Please do mention it.
A little while later, while still playing without my card in, another
marketing gal showed up wanting to get me a card. I told her the same thing and she
wrote it down and also took my card number which in after thought, was
probably not a good thing. I also told both these ladies that locals were not
treated right. We cannot put in 8 or 10 thousand points every visit. Some times we
only play for an hour or two, other times three or four. I explained to both
ladies that I personally felt they should look at monthly coin in, not visit
(trip) coin in. We want to be loyal, but if we come in for a short visit, we
get burned in the offer department.
