Oh, sure, and I have some nice oceanfront property right here in Las Vegas
for Mr. Zender.
Forte is well-know both for being a (supposedly) former cheat and then turning consultant to casinos on cheating. In an earlier article, he was said to have claimed he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, trying to do an "inside" investigation of whatever was going on. If he was smart enough to let the police know this ahead of time, or to have left solid evidence of his "investigatory" capacity with an attorney, he might get out of this, but if not, then he will undoubtedly pay the price, whether he was involved or not.
It certainly is a reasonable story for him in particular, although "reasonable" and "credible" may not overlap very much in this situation.
