Stopped by Greektown yesterday and noticed a new blackjack game. This is a multiplayer, machine dealt game by Interblock. The rules are standard multi deck LV rules with the following exceptions:
-- no resplit
-- not sure if double after split is allowed. Rules weren't clear on this.
-- no surrender ( typical for las vegas strip but this game listed it as an exception)
They even include a basic strategy chart in the help screen. Nice. I didn't check it for accuracy.
Now for the interesting rule. This is an 8 deck game ( don't know where the shuffle point is) but they have a 10 card charlie rule. Yes, 10 card charlie. And it pays even money.
I was thinking of when you would ever even have a legitimate draw to a 10 card hand. The only starting cards that make sense are something like 2-2-2-2-2-2-followed by some more 2s or aces. If you get an ace in the first 4 cards, you'll make a legit soft hand before you are close to getting 10 cards. Best draw I could think of ( cursory glance) is 2-2-2-2-2-2-A-A-A, a 9 card 15. I'm guessing they won't be paying off too frequently on this hand. They could make that 10 card hard 100:1 bonus and not really lose anything.
Gotta love Greektown.
