A final note on the Spokane's....
They are making a big PR splash up here right now - giving $1.8 million to various education entities in the area - high schools and colleges. Fourteen in all, I believe. Lot of dough, huh? They then went on to state that this represented 5% of their total profit for the year!
Wild horses could not drag me into the place.
Cheers!

Spokane is great this time of year - no place better! The winter? Not so much. 20 inches of snow in one day last Christmas. Kona anyone? (-;
Glad you hi tthem for the royal - but there are several older folks who have more than made up for your win. The guy I work for found out his Dad had lost everything out there - house, car, you name it. But they were so nice to him!.....
Nevada or nothin' for me! I'm a little too far away from the gulf coast, etc. to take advantage of that.
Cheers!

You are absolutely correct on all counts - I had no idea that the machine was lottery- or bingo-based, don't even think I was aware that some machines were designed that way at the time I was there, I think 5-6 years ago; learned about such machines on this list since then. I did think I was getting a legit. 8/5 JoB game, and didn't even know about the match when I sat down to play, it showed up and I figured out how it "worked" after the fact (and even then, I didn't understand that it had a role in producing the pre-determined outcome).
I'll know better next time; I do usually try to play the best paytables and certainly want to play machines where the paytable actually reflects the return, but I rarely would play a legitimate 8/5 JoB, let alone this kind (I've done it in a couple of other places where I got a free slot-play coupon). The fact that this was not what I would consider "truth in advertising" makes me feel that much better that I hit them for a royal, they "deserved" to lose to someone! -- and it was even luckier than I had realized to do so. The other good news was that I had a few good sessions in their (live) poker room, overall a good trip.
I wasn't out in the rest of the casino long enough to notice (and/or remember) the smoke that everyone complained about on the list here. My wife smokes, but keeps her distance when she does so, so I can tolerate a little of it if necessary to play what I want to play, but generally speaking, given a choice, I'll also avoid the smoke.
Interesting to have such a smoky casino in such a "green" state (and community such as Spokane). I really liked Spokane, it was the only time I've been there and it was a beautiful place.

Date: Tue Jul 14, 2009 9:37 am ((PDT))We all do that. But your statement of the JB game being 8/5, but with the
bonus match indicated to me you thought you were getting a real VP game. You
were not. If you knew that before, fine. If you didn't, well now you do.
It's your money - flush it down the toilet if you like. I guess that's the
same as playing at Norhtern Quest for any SERIOUS play anyway.
