IGT (and other) designers of multi-game VP

My husband posed the following question to me this morning:

"Why are the designers of multi-game VP sexually repressed?"

Not understanding his question (a not unusual happenstance in our
home) I requested an explanation.

He answered that he had played 3, 5, 10, 50 & 100 play, but had
never seen fore-play! <G>

When I stopped laughing (another reason we've been married a very
LOONNGG time) I started to think about this myself.

Why is there no 4, 6, 8, 9 play etc ? Are there any computer
programming experts out there that know the answer?

Personally, I enjoy playing the 4 play option on BDWinPoker. I
think that I would also seek out a 4 play machine in the casino if
it was available.

Any comments?

Regards,

The old Odyssey Lucky Draw??? machines were 4 lines, were they not?
They had interesting graphics and neat sound effects also, although
as I recall the card suits could be slightly confusing at first
glance, due to the "old west" style of the card design. I guess the
company that made these machines went out of business because you
don't see them around any more.

Spin Poker is sort of a 9 line machines, but not exactly.

And of course, you can play 50 and 100 plays at 5 coins per line at
any number of lines you want.

The old Lucky Draw machines had 4 play on their video poker games. Along with the sounds it was really fun to play.

There's absolutely no technical reason for those values to have been
picked. There might be design reasons for 4 (the layout of the screen
can be tricky), and 6 to 9 are probably psychologically "too close" to
either 5 or 10.

Going further, 20 has a similar issue with screen layout, 25 would
have been easy.

I'm surprised that 100-play is shown with 9 rows of 10 plus one row of
9 when it could have used 9 rows of 11 or 11 rows of 9.
