If you have a $400 bankroll...

Hello everyone,
Happy New Year!

I will be going to CT in January. Normally when I am there, I have about $100 to blow on
video poker. I usually play Deuces Wild at Mohegan Sun. I know the paytable isn't very
good but I can usually play for a longer period of time. I tried Pick 'Em last time I played
and it was like cash hemorrhage, watching my $100 get gobbled up in about 30 minutesl!
Pretty frustrating, considering it took me about 2 hours to find the @#$*!! machines!

This time, I will have $400 to spend, courtesy of my first ever royal flush this week at the
Hollywood Slots in Bangor. (10 cent Deuces Wild machine). My question is, if you have a
$400 bankroll, what game would you recommend I play?

I prefer the atmosphere of Mohegan Sun to Foxwoods, but I would be willing to go to
either. I have the Frugal Video Poker tutorial software so I can practice up on whatever
game I plan to play. (Although there seem to be a lot of inconsistencies in the software.)

With a $400 bankroll, would I have a decent chance of not just watching my money go
down the drain with the 25Cent Pick 'Em game the way it did with my $100 bankroll? Hey,
at least I know where the machines are now, so I won't have to spend 2 hours looking for
them.

I could try the JOB $1 machines, if I can find them. I seem to have much better luck when I
practice that on my tutorial software. It seems much easier to control the "bleeding" with
that machine, as opposed to the hemorrhage factor of "Pick'Em". However, I have NO idea
where to find those machines, I realize they are in the bars, somewhere.

Or maybe the 25 cent Bonus Poker would be best?

$400 is a lot of money to me so while I realize there is a good chance I will not come out
ahead, I would also like to not lose any more than $200 on one outing.

I would appreciate whatever insights you more experienced players might care to share.

Thank you!

Best wishes,
Cathy B.

There is nothing playable at foxwoods (on normal points days)

I don't beleive there are any inconsistancies

In theory, you should play the $0.25 picke'em or $0.25 JoB-- if you could find them. $400
is
320 bets. JoB has a somewhat higher surrivability than Pick'em-- but probably not
significant for you (given a sinlge trip of a few hours). So you could play for quite a few
hours
with less than 10% chance of losing your bankroll-- even at pick'em. Make sure the
games
are full pay. Don't play the short-pay DW at MS. It's really bad.

Cathy,
Enjoy your trip and congrats on the Bangor Royal.
cdsrule gives good advice. You have the software. You know the VPFREE
commandments. You know we are all gambling. Practice then go play the
Pick'em at Mohegan and have fun! Its good you are getting away.
