The Palms is an annoying place to play. You never know if you are eligible
for the promotions or not if you play on the machines marked "this machine
not eligible for promotions." I like to play on the 3/5 play machines. First
- if you ask, the Palms boothlings keep saying those machines are Full Pay -
but they are not!!!! They have NSU (99.98%) and 9/6 DDB (98%) -- I like DDB
-- no way is 98% FP!!!!! ARGH. So why am I penalized if I play that game,
just because NSU is on the same machine?
And sometimes when I play on these machines, I find I can get the promotions
like multiple points, etc. Two weeks ago I played on one and did 3200+
points on a Mon/Wed/Fro and carefully checked to see if I would get the 3 scratch
cards. Sure enough, they gave them to me. So my husband played and got the
scratches. We went back the next week, and played again, and got scratch
cards.
So today we went over, played on the same type machine (all of them marked
with "not eligible for promotions") but in a different row, and when we went to
get the scratch cards, we were told our play wasn't eligible since it was a
FP machine!
ARGH.
How annoying.
Now here is the ironic part, today I got $2000 Aces with a Kicker while
playing DDB. So while waiting for the W2G, I sat at the machine next to it, and
on the VERY FIRST HAND, hit $4000 Royal on the bottom line of the 5-play. I
think that is the first time in my life I ever got a Royal on the 1st hand.
So I won $$ today so I should be happy. But it is the principle of the
thing -- why were those 3/5 plays eligible for the scratch cards for 2 weeks, but
now weren't???
I've had similar annoyances in the past where sometimes your 4X play coupon
worked, sometimes your extra coins for some quad worked, and then sometimes
they didn't.
The Palms has no cashback, poor mailers, and 9/6DDB is not a FP or 100% game
– so why penalize me for playing it and not let me get a couple of cruddy
gifts for the scratch cards??? (Best gift we had received was $20 for 24/7
Cafe).
The last time the Palms seriously annoyed me I had also hit a $1 Royal,
couldn't get paid extra for a quad, and headed immediately across the street to
the Gold Coast where I hit a $8000 Royal. I suppose I should thank the Palms
for being so annoying.
This time when told I couldn't get the scratch card, we once again
immediately headed for the GC and played there (no luck though).
If the Palms were not the closest casino to me I would never play there at
all! Because of the annoyances, we will go back to pretty much not playing
there, except to get any free play or Megabucks, and just pass through quickly
on our way to the GC or elsewhere. I do love LIttle Buddah and Alize
restaurants, but the Buffet is bad and the 24/7 overpriced. Palms is also
annoyingly noisy with bad music.
Every few months I try going back to the Palms, but win or lose, it is so
annoying that it pushes me away.
And Mr. Maloof or your minions - if you are reading this - please note - 9/6
DDB VP is not a FP game!!!!
