It sure sounds like our collective experience suggests honesty vs. larceny
and that makes me happy. I've had someone point out that my purse was open,
wallet easily available for snatching - and had a security guard run after me
to get my wallet back to me. I now carry a huge purse so things stay at the
bottom and there's less chance of pickpocketing.

On a similar note I got a phone call from security at a New York City bank
(to Las Vegas where I live) and was told that Jacqui M (a friend) had left her
wallet at the ATM. The security officer checked in the wallet and mine was
the one phone number there. Between us, we got Jacqui back to the bank to
collect her (pretty full) wallet.

The other important thing I learned about protecting my money, was
due to a hard lesson. My wallet was snatched twice (once at a flea
market and once in an airport). This happened because I was carrying
a purse with a zipper across the top. The zipper was opened
expertly, my wallet was extracted, and I never felt a thing until it
was too late. I threw out the purse after the second unfortunate
experience, and now will only carry purses that have flaps on top,
that can be securely latched shut.
