I Just Have to Say It

Document this or retract it.

I don't remember this requirement on any other discussion before.
It's chilling. Did somebody ask you to do this? Should we not
mention names any more?

Factual posts and posts that express an opinion are, and
have always been, OK.

Untrue or speculative posts that are presented as facts
aren't OK.

When a post states as a fact that someone is outing specific
players to casinos, which is doubtful and probably
unverifiable, it requires documentation.

Most of the Dancer bashing is based on paytables getting
worse and players getting no mailed or trespassed at
casinos where he consulted. This reasoning isn't very
convincing since players also got no mailed and vp has been
getting worse at a lot of casinos where Dancer didn't
consult.

On the other hand, if you want nothing short of hidden video taken from a private meeting between Dancer and a casino's G.M., you're obviously never going to be satisfied.

Some common sense is called for.

What do you think Dancer offers the casino, as a vp consultant?

A way to increase profits.

How do you do that [at least in the short term]:
Cut paytables.
Identify players who are ahead, and if they appear to be ap's, 86 them.

What else COULD he offer that hasn't been tried - Drawings? Gift of the day/week giveaways?

The fact that some casinos are doing this without him as a consultant doesn't negate the obvious - at EVERY casino where he consults, things get worse shortly thereafter.

Actually, I don't think so.

The probability that Dancer has been responsible for machine downgrades could be determined using a hypergeometric probability distribution, showing that casinos that BD has recently consulted with have a much higher preponderance of downgrades than those that don't use his services.

And as luck would have it, we have a limited but fairly accurate database at our disposal; the vpfree2 MIA list. So if you can build a rational case against Dancer with this actual data, go for it. Otherwise, the accusations against him are completely irresponsible.

And if you think Dancer should have to prove a negative, then you would have loved Salem Mass, circa 1692.

Seriously, though, to what end does casino mananagent have in mind when Dancer teaches classes -- like not long ago at Eastside Cannery where he taught classes- which, by the way, it appears optimum play has tanked after being there for most of the year since it opened?

I see blackjack and craps classes taught at many casinos
and the purpose appears to be getting people to try a new
form of gaming.
