I just got my first dealt royal!

All of my royals so far have been on two or three card holds (which a thread here once before identified, with the applicable math shown, as the most common way to get a royal).

However, I have a friend who's had 'em all -- dealt royal, and holding everything from zero to four cards. As you might expect, he's put in a fair amount of time at the machines over the years -- but he is still working full time and most definitely not a pro -- just a very compulsive player when he makes a trip to a casino.

I would not be at all surprised to find that there are many others here who have done this too.

Once, I discarded all five cards and got a royal on the draw.

I've had 2 royals on a redraw and maybe went 10 cycles before I recently hit my first one on a 4-card draw.
