I might suggest that it varies by property. At MGM Mirage properties it
doesn't seem to matter if we (gf and I) win or lose...the play level generates to
offers.
Alternatively, we both decided to play at Wynn during our last trip. Played
side by side at equal denominations but I'm playing 9/6 JoB and she's playing
short pay DDB. We lost about the same amount of money. In the end, guess who
gets the offers? It may be too early to say definitively as this was based on
December play experience but we just had this conversation over dinner and
are now convinced that Wynn in particular caters to losers or at least
theoretical ones.
I'm so used to the philosophy of "just play and you'll get the comps due
regardless of win or lose" that I lost sight of the potential human intervention
element that might just be saying "we cater to losers".
Realistically, it's easy to see where this attitude may pervade. Theo loss
is one thing....a bonafide loser playing a poor theo is money in the bank.
