I attended a Bob Dancer/ Fleas

Dancer explained a $1 full pay vp machine may
yield, for example, $30/hour to the minority of disciplined players
who can play perfect strategy.

This is not desirable. However, the same machine can be allowed to
remain at the 25 cent level. It may yield $7.50/hour profit to those

players

with discipline and the ability to play perfect strategy.
However, these are [laughing] "fleas".

My own goal in playing video poker is to be able to take vacations in nice
hotels, have fun with friends, have fun with gambling, & do it all for next
to nothing in cash over the long term. I play well enough & gather
information carefully enough that I can do this. I never expect to or
seriously consider making big money from gambling, or making a living from
it. For various reasons, that motivation doesn't apply to me at all. I'm
happy to take a trip to Vegas & play Jacks-Or-Better with some cashback &
comps & some free tourneys & such, & ultimately end up about even, minus the
cost of cheap SouthWest plane tickets.

If casino management is knowledgeable, they wouldn't consider me a valuable
customer. So how do I WANT casino management to view me? When they consider
the fact that they're offering the opportunity for folks like me to take
free vacations, I want them to think that Full Pay Video Poker is an overall
moneymaker for them, because it attracts unskilled players, who are the ones
they're really interested in. I WANT them to think of skilled players like
myself as fleas, in the sense that we don't do the casino much good, but
we're such a small & insignificant factor (compared to the masses of
unskilled players) that we can be ignored.

If someone suggests that skilled low-level players like myself are "fleas"
in that we ought to be squashed like bugs, then that would be wrong. But to
call us "fleas" to suggest that our numbers & effect on casinos are so tiny
that they can easily & laughingly be ignored, that's fine with me.
