I attended a Bob Dancer casino industry seminar.

OK

Two G2E's ago I attended a Bob Dancer seminar. Bob spoke as the co-
owner of Compton-Dancer Consulting.

Among other things, he laughingly referred to people who play 25
cent video poker in an advantage situation as "fleas".
Needless to say, he is probably referring to 75% of the membership of
vpfree, if not 99%.

He told the assembled slot execs that there will always be fleas,
and you have to put up with them.

However, his presentation made it clear that the goal is to let the
fleas get the minimum possible, while allowing the casino to advertise
that they have "loose" video poker.

OK so far ... You're reporting what you heard.

His posts here have tried to make the point that he is
simultaneously helping the casino and players.

OK

Based on his presentation, nothing could be farther from the truth.

Not OK.

Your report doesn't begin to support this negative conclusion. Just
report the facts and let them do the talking.

I have a great deal more to say, but it would probably be deleted
and moved to the other forum, no matter how carefully I'd try to
phrase it.

There's no problem if you just accurately report what took place.

Thanks for the explanation with examples. It does help me understand
how you are responding to the posts, and I'll try to follow your
guidelines.

Our Administrator spent quite some time to analyze the message above of jw776655 and normally I would just let it stand at that. There is only one little thing though why I do not want to delete this message without a comment:

If jw776655, who seems to be an alert listener and wrote a sensible message, is disturbed by the behavior and choice of words by BD, then I can not just say, "Well, the Cardfather cleared BD and therefore all is well."

In the past I have repeatedly praised and supported BD and I will continue to do so, but please, Bob, not everyone has a thick skin. You are for us some kind of a public figure, weigh your words before you let them out. Don't expose them to interpretation.

There is a way to have "fleas" that is good for both the casino and the
players. The obvious - keep the machines with a real player advantage
at the quarter level. Set them at reasonable speed (sam's town overdoes
the slowdown) such as IGT level 3 or even 2.

Emphasize comps as your main club giveback rather than cash,
especially for multiple point promos that can be set (if your club gives
both at the same time) to multiply the comps but not the cashback.
Worse scenario is that the player at times will now get the specialty
restaurant instead of the buffet.

The advantage many players have is small, even with play at speed 2
the max cash you'll earn is about $10/hour and that's without mistakes,
putting up with smoke, noise, etc. There may be a few playing many
hours this way but the majority of players won't stay that long and of
course, very important, have enough machines so that the non skilled
players can easilt access these "loose" pay tables.

The player has some obligations too. Accept the slot club for what it
offers. Play one machine. Do not do things that annoy or endanger those
around you such as smoking or being rude or obnoxious. Treat the
casino employees with respect.
