I am still in shock over what I saw

I was sitting at a 10 play bank of machines. I am quietly playing
next to a husband and wife. They are playing UGLY DUCKS…NICKELS…
His wife clearly has no clue as to what she is doing from the various
comments I hear her make…I try to ignore them and their
conversation…When to my open ears I hear the man say - "look - I
got dealt four 2's " - I look over - sure enough he has been dealt
the deuces…I expect to hear them congratulate each
other…NO,NO,NO…next thing I hear him say is "I will hold the King
of Spades because then I might get that Royal thing…"…sure enough
to my total amazement and before the words could get out of my mouth -
he throws the special four cards away…
He did not get that "Royal thing"…his wife asked why he did not
keep the 2's ? He states because four of a kind is only worth 20
coins but the royal is worth 4000.!!! I was so amazed and then so
angry that anyone could be that stupid - I wanted to shale this man
in hopes of rearranging his brain cells, but instead I cashed out and
left the area.
I know there are some doubters out there - But I swear this
happened. It has been 5 days now - and I am still totally amazed
there are people out there that are THAT STUPID!!! Thank God they
are playing - these type of MORONS keep casinos going and good plays
out there. This by far has got to be the stupidest thing that has
ever been witnessed while playing VP.
Just one more "college of idiot" thing that has happen this week. A
man playing a 50 play machine choses the 1 cent option…Okay - I see
alot of people do this - now he choses 1 line (Why do people play
5/10/50/100 plays and only play one line???) - He decides to play
the 8/5 JOB. He gets dealt the following cards: 3,A,K,10,Q all
diamonds…Yep - he keeps ALL the diamonds for a flush and is HAPPY
about his flush.
I am starting to think the casino is purposely arranging for these
morons to sit near me to distract me from making the right plays on
good machines…AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

He was very confused! I had to explain to him the
extra payout, but I never mentioned the opportunity he
had passed up for 4 dueces.

I've seen plenty of stupid plays in my day, both in AC and Vegas, but this one is a keeper! Thanks for the day-brightener.
   And remember, it's people like this that allow us to ply our trade.

I thought the machine would lock up with the four deuces dealt. I
know it does on the higher denominations.

They don't lock up unless it's over $1200 on newer machines. Royals on quarter machines at GC and Orleans don't lock up, ever. (I LOVE that).

Just catching up on a few days of postings, and this one made my eyes
pop open. Not because I'm so shocked, but because I've seen it
also.

A while back, in AC, I was playing DB on a quarter bank, when two
young guys sat down at the machines to my left. They didn't appear
drunk or anything, but were obviously clueless to be playing the
godawful deuces on those machines. Within a couple of minutes, the
guy beside me was dealt the four deuces. He was pretty excited, and
yelled to his friend to "Look at this!". His friend tells him "don't
fall for that - it's just a distraction to prevent you from getting
the Royal". Mr. Ducks was obviously in turmoil, but his friend kept
telling him to ditch the hand.

My mouth must have been hanging open, because Mr. Ducks turned to me
and asked "What do you think?" My reply: "I'll give you $100 to
walk away from this machine right now."

He held the hand.
