Thanks JT, best laugh I've had all week (and that includes some of
Singer's serious posts on another forum).
I do need to add that Denny's "this" is not the disagreement
between
optimal play folks and BS. The disagreement is whether anyone can
predict the future of random events.

As I have said before, "To each his own". I am very satisfied with
my results not only in video poker but my professional and personal
life, but this board is to "learn" and not to "brag". Video poker
after a long learning process has allowed me to come to Las Vegas a
half dozen times a year, stay in the best rooms, at the best hotels,
eat at the best restaurants, see the best shows in the best seats for
free and make a few bucks to boot. Even Elliot Frome in his latest
column said something to the effect that he makes his money writing
and not from playing video poker.
To knock someone's honest response to an responsibly asked question,
even though you disagree with that response, is not proper in
business and is not proper on this message board. People who think
out of the box are desirable in the business world and are also
desirable in video poker. Most people thought Thorp was crazy
counting cards in blackjack and look what happened to that game.
Critiques are always welcome but some of you folks who think your way
is the only way may someday realize there is likely someone out there
who is as sharp or sharper than yourself.
By the way, my response did not knock Bob Dancer and his philosophy
or his products. I own all his material and have read all of it.
Reread my post. I say, learning optimal play" is where you start.
There is nothing wrong with expanding on optimal play though if you
are satisfied with your results. Some of you guys need to go back
and reread every one of Harry Porter's comments. Now there is a man
who expresses his opinion without trying to degrade people who have
differing views. I have never met the gentleman, but some of you
folks could learn many lessons from the nature of his responses. I'd
lay odds he's more successful in life than those of you who claim who
know everything about everything.
Sorry for the preaching, but I do believe that all blessings flow
from God and not sarcastically either. Denny
