I am at L'auberge du lack in Lake Charles, LA

I have not been here in over a year and they have since switched to a new player card structure. It's still called "MyChoice" but now there are more tiers.

The points are still 1 point for every $10 of Vp play however so far the comp rate seems very low and the first host i spoke with was not much help. After about $2000 coin in i checked and he said i had about $3 built up for use at restaurants and whatnot...if i wanted to play it on the machine it would only be worth half of that. Do those numbers seem normal? I'm still kinda new to Vp. I'm used to playing at the blackjack table for 2 hours at $25/hand and then asking for 2 buffet comps...which is usually not a problem at this casino.

I played some $1 JoB last night as there are still plenty of full pay machines available. Let me know if you're looking for an update on a particular game and i'll do some searching.

Outside Nevada that rate of 0.075% for cashback on VP or 0.15% for comps is
sadly fairly normal. In the Chicago Area where I am from, cashback is
generally 0.1% on VP though the Ameristar is 0.0625% for VP but 0.125% on
comps. Casinos sometimes have multiplier days. Also sometimes have
"bounceback" offers (mailers) for free play. One of the biggest puzzles for
vp players is to figure out the actual value of these, especially as some
casinos vary the amounts of this on whether you previously won or lost. the
Majestic Star (Gary IN) is one of the properties I am a vpfree monitor at,
halves the value of cashback for its lowest card level. That is not uncommon
so you must be aware of it.

Pyiddy - Thanks for the quick reply. I saw your post shortly after you posted it but didn't get a chance to reply until now. Thanks again though for reassuring me that it was within the normal range. Again I am new to VP so I'm still getting used to what is normal or not.

All that being said I was finally able to get some "discretionary" comps during my visit. I guess I never realized what discretionary comps meant since I am used to playing backjack. Whenver i was playing blackjack I would simply ask for a food comp after a few hours of playing $25/hand and would get it. (Unless I was playing a vegas strip casino in which case they just say "check your card balance")

Anyway, so after I had racked up about 800 points and lost $500 i finally got a host to give me 1 free buffet (i had asked for 2). The next day i played again, scoring another 800 points and losing $400, but this time a (nicer) host gave me a $60 comp to the Jack Daniels restaurant. So overall I guess it just depends on the host. This casino is a bit unique in that they just have a host podium that anyone can approach without actually having been assigned a host.

I don't have good records for this casino, but I seem to recall that they used to be much more generous than they are now. Of course, this is globally true for just about all casinos.

I stopped by there recently after not visiting for at least a year or two, and ran a ton of coin thru on NSUD to see what kind of offers that play would generate. The same day free play / comps I got were a joke. But they did send me some good bounce back free play in the mail.

EE,

A lot has definitely changed there but again it's hard for me to truly determine what since I am normally a table player and this time i only played VP. During my visit I had about $16,000 coin in so I'm curious to see what kind of bounce back i receive. They have been pretty good in the past (based on my table play) about giving me bounce back always in the form of cash.

That being said i know that 16k is not a huge amount compared to most VP players.
